Concentrated Platinum‐Gallium Nanoalloy for Hydrogen Production from the Catalytic Steam Reforming of Ethanol
نویسندگان
چکیده
The steam reforming of ethanol (SRE) is a key process for the production H2 and other vital hydrocarbons. present work describes synthesis Platinum-Gallium (Pt−Ga) nanoalloys supported on mesostructured cellular foam (MCF-17) via ultrasound-assisted impregnation method. Ga was substituted with Pt in different wt.% i. e. Pt/MCF-17, Pt99.9Ga0.1/MCF-17, Pt99Ga1/MCF-17, Pt90Ga10/MCF-17 evaluated towards SRE at temperature range 473K-773 K hydrogen (H2), acetaldehyde (CH3CHO), diethylether (DEE), ethylene (C2H4), carbon monoxide (CO), dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), ethane (C2H6). activity formation rate catalyst were observed to be 68.1 % 3047.2 nmole g−1 sec−1, which 9.8 4.5 times more than Pt/MCF-17 counterparts. Moreover, as from DRIFTS, NH3-TPD XPS studies showed high interaction electron deficit state resulted increased dehydrogenating acidic properties that higher yield H2.

Steam Reforming of Ethanol: Production of Renewable Hydrogen
Abnormal growth of population and development enormously increases energy demand. In present scenario utilization of fossils fuels to meet this demand is not enough and also leads to pollution, global warming, climate change as well as natural disaster. Therefore, hydrogen as energy carrier is a major option on these prospects as it is non-polluting and renewable. The renewable hydrogen energy ...
متن کاملParametric Study of Hydrogen Production from Ethanol Steam Reforming in a Membrane Microreactor
Microreactors are miniaturized chemical reaction systems, which contain reaction channels with characteristic dimensions in the range of 10-500 μm. One possible application for microreactors is the conversion of ethanol to hydrogen used in fuel cells to generate electricity. In this paper a rigorous isothermal, steady-state two-dimensional model was developed to simulate the behavior of a membr...
متن کاملStable Hydrogen Production from Ethanol through Steam Reforming Reaction over Nickel-Containing Smectite-Derived Catalyst
Hydrogen production through steam reforming of ethanol was investigated with conventional supported nickel catalysts and a Ni-containing smectite-derived catalyst. The former is initially active, but significant catalyst deactivation occurs during the reaction due to carbon deposition. Side reactions of the decomposition of CO and CH4 are the main reason for the catalyst deactivation, and these...
متن کاملEngineering Scale up of Renewable Hydrogen Production by Catalytic Steam Reforming of Peanut Shells Pyrolysis Products
Renewable hydrogen may be produced in the near term at a cost that is competitive with natural gas reforming by integrating hydrogen production with existing industrial utilization of agricultural residues. A team of government, industrial, and academic organizations is developing a steam reforming process to be demonstrated on the gaseous byproducts from a process for making activated carbon f...
